Baptist Collegiate Ministry of Greater Nashville

BCMGN was created 3 years ago as the governing board for campus ministries at TSU, Fisk and Vanderbilt Universities for the Tennessee Baptist Convention. As a separate entity from the Tennessee Baptist Convention, we maintain partners in ministry.

Our goal is to minister to college students and equip them to give their lives away. We operate our ministry on a very small, but powerful budget, and with the creation of the BCMGN rely heavily on the generosity of private individuals to make our ministry possible.

The purpose of our BCM ministries is to reach out to college students at TSU and Fisk University and provide a spiritual experience in daily living.

 Why the Campus?

  • There has been a decline in college campus ministry and we want to change it.
  • The future leaders of society pass through our colleges and universities.
  • Over 90% of all people who become Christians do so before the age of 25
  • Historically, most major revivals, world mission, world movements started on college campuses.

We have a mission to build strong and effective Christian leadership in our world by meeting the student where they are with some experience and opportunity they need to get there.

What We Do

The purpose of the BCM at TSU and Fisk University is to know Christ and make Christ known by building and enhancing faith, spiritual ministry growth, and opportunity in the collegiate community. Baptist Collegiate offers an opportunity for the student to get to know God and him/herself better.

We can help the student to grow in the following variety of ways:

  • Friendship
  • Mission/Outreach
  • Retreats
  • Creative Ministry
  • Campus Worship
  • Guest Speakers
  • Counseling
  • Bible Study/Prayer
  • travel
  • Music and Drama
  • Fellowship with other students on campuses

These are just a few ways we reach students along with many more developing outreach programs within our campuses and  community.
