Creative Minsitry Conference 2011

Where: TSU Humanities/POAG Hall

Come and engage in a plethora of workshops and classes geared toward various forms of creative ministry. Creative ministry encompasses dance, mime, drama, step, and various other forms of ministry. During the conference, youth can engage in a workshop entitled “Jesus’ Tiny Vessels” in which they will explore various ministry styles from their perspective. Ministry leaders and advisors can engage in several workshops focused on maintaining the ministry. Members of the ministry teams can partake in a number of technique workshops. Even those who are not members of a creative ministry team can partake in the conference.

The conference will conclude with an all-ministry concert on Sunday evening. Each ministry in attendance is invited to participate.

Presented by the Dance Ministry Teams of Fisk Univeristy and Tennessee State University in Nashville, TN.

Conference Classes

• Your Body is a Temple (Master workout class) (Workout while learning about the importance of proper warm-up techniques and how to take care of the body.)

• Maintaining Your Ministry (All ministry leaders and advisors are asked to attend this lecture on methods to sustain powerful leadership in ministry.)

• Teamwork in Ministry (Learn techniques to strengthen the bond between ministry members )

• Why Minister? (Learn about the imp of ministry, investigate reasons to minister, and discuss types and styles of ministry (dance, step, mime, etc))

• Effective Ministry in the 21st century (Techniques to improve ministry approach/how to be effective ministers @ school, church, etc. Discuss other methods of ministry/how to reach our generation)

• Master Dance Class Workshop 1

• Master Dance Class Workshop 2

• Master Mime Class Workshop 1

• Symbolism in Ministry (What the colors represent, the different styles of dance, mime, etc (warfare, etc), use of body/facials to communicate message, why use props- flags, streamers, etc .)

• Jesus' Tiny Vessels (Break down on a kid friendly level what ministry is)

• Making Up and Dressing Down the Temple (Learn about appropriate wardrobe, makeup, hair techniques for ministry and their importance.)

• Movement in Ministry (For those who desire to choreograph but don't know where to start. Discuss ambiguity in movement, creative movement, choreography for males/females, and how to separate Godly movements from secular)

*Please dress appropriately. The recommended dress for Your Body is a Temple and the Master Dance classes are workout attire. However, please refrain from tight or revealing clothing. *
